Wind Directional Flue Cap, Terra-Cotta Mount
The wind directional cap can freely rotate around its shaft. When wind blows, the fin aligns the hood against wind and front skirt will divert all air streams over and sides of the cap along with rain and snow solving wind related downdraft problems. It's important to get a chimney cap with the right kind of mount to fit your chimney. If you have a chimney liner installed, or you are installing a chimney liner kit, the chimney cap with a quick-connect clamp can be connected directly to the liner. Make sure the chimney cap you get is the correct size and shape to match the liner. A clay tile mount chimney cap attaches to the terra cotta flue tile that lines your chimney. To install a chimney cap on the clay tiles, the tile must extend at least 6 inches above the chimney itself. A flat mount chimney cap attaches to the top of chimney crown, while an outside mount cap fits over the crown like a box top. Class A insulated chimney pipe requires a special cap.
