Help & Documents

The Chimney Balloon (AKA The Chimney Pillow) is an inflatable fireplace draft stopper. Inflate into place in the fireplace flue just above the damper. It makes an airtight seal that blocks outside air and chimney odor from entering your home. The 2 ply design is extremely durable and can be installed in rough conditions. The balloon is designed with a low heat melting point that will release the balloon if a fire is accidentally ignited.

The optional HEK Handgrip/Valve Extender Kit is a way to get a further reach with your Chimney Balloon. The HEK allows you many extra inches of reach and the valve handle is near the valve mouth. Rule of Thumb: If you can not easily touch the area you measured for your Chimney Balloon with your hand...you should buy an HEK Extender. It will make installation of the Chimney Balloon much easier.

Note: Do not use with gas logs. Intended for use with traditional masonry wood burning fireplaces.

    Measuring for Your Chimney Balloon:

Measuring the inside of your flue will help you choose the correct size Chimney Balloon. We offer different sizes that fit most chimneys. Don't stress, measuring the chimney is easy! Measure the inside of your chimney about a foot up the chimney flue. Measure from side-to-side and from front-to-back. Measurements can be approximate, then choose the Chimney Balloon of the appropriate size or slightly larger than your chimney (up to 6" larger in either dimension).
