Cre-Away is an effective, patented, powdered creosote modifier. It was developed by a chemical engineer after having had a chimney fire himself. Its four component powder works a little differently than Anti Creo-Soot. Apply Cre-Away directly to the flue (not into the fire) using the 1 lb. applicator bottle or the Cre-Away Pro Applicator.
Apply during the heating season to modify glazed creosote, making it easier to remove. Apply Cre-Away after every cleaning to make any remaining stubborn deposits safer and to neutralize the acidity and odors from the creosote. 16 oz. squeeze bottle.
Instructions for Use
Make sure to apply Cre-Away directly into the chimney, never apply on a fire. Turn the bottle on its side and shake the contents thoroughly. Lift the red cap and point the nozzle directly in the chimney, in the direction of the airflow. To apply Cre-Away, squeeze the bottle hard 4 to 5 times forcing a liberal amount to draft up the chimney. You will use roughly one-third of the bottle, but make sure to cover the entire chimney. For taller chimneys, you may have to squeeze the bottle from the top of the chimney to ensure the chimney is coated. Once you have coated the chimney, a fire is needed to trigger the catalyst in Cre-Away one week after applying. Use Cre-Away for one week before lighting a fire. After the week is over clean the chimney as normal. After the chimney is clean, apply Cre-Away once a week to help keep the chimney glaze free.
In the event of negative pressure, a small fire may be required to create a positive draft. Do not apply Cre-away directly on a fire.
