I was referred to Rockford Chimney by a company that built wholesale chimney caps for suppliers like Rockford. I talked to Ryan and asked about this Cap and gave him the measurements of my terracotta chimney top. Ryan stated that he will order the Cap and should fit. 3-weeks after I received the cap and it was too small and Ryan ordered the supposedly correct size. Another 3-weeks later I received the order and again the Cap was too small but the sent a larger flashing which didn’t matter since the cap was too small. Ryan stated the company doesn’t make the Cap large but offer Rockford’s Chimney cap and stated that it would work. Still skeptical, I sent Ryan numerous photos of my chimney with a tape measure in the photo for all the sizes for the Cap. Again aryan stated that he sent the measurements and photos to production for a perfect fit. Ryan stated that this cap was going to cost an extra $300 and that he would have it powdered coated Black per my request for no additional charger. Three weeks later received the new cap and guess what, the Cap is not a custom fit and now I have to brick and concrete around the crown of my chimney to make this Cap fit. By the way, I sent both previous Caps back so not get charge any additional fees. The bottom line is that Dealing with Ryan was very difficult at time who seemed like he was just a sales person who didn’t know anything about proper chimney products. Ryan said that I was trying to get stuff for free when asked why the up charge of $300 for Rockford’s product. Looking at Rockford’s products on their page never show cost so Ryan just puts in a value without the customer knowing until the invoice is emailed. I don’t want anything to do with Rockford’s business ethics.
