About the Inner and Outer Liners

Fabricated with a 316Ti stainless steel inner liner, and a 430 stainless steel outer liner, you can't go wrong with this choice. The inner liner will vent the flue gases, while the outer liner will protect the insulation as it's being installed down the chimney flue. Moreover, with 7 ply seams and 10 corrugations per seam, it is a very durable liner that is air and water tight.

The purpose of the outer lining is to protect the insulation and keep it intact during installation. The 430 stainless steel outer lining isn't directly in contact with the emissions and by-products like the inner lining is. By using 430 stainless steel outer lining, you will not find a Pre-Insulated flue liner as economical and affordable as ours, without compromising on quality.

Not only is our insulated chimney liner made from prime stainless steel, but also features 1/2" thick insulation between the two linings. Most important, this ensures the flue gases stay hot and less creosote will build inside. By choosing to install a pre-insulated chimney liner, you avoid time and hassle with wrapping insulation around your flex liner.

Measuring & Installing Your Insulated Chimney Liner Kit

Measuring for your stainless steel insulated chimney liner is one of the most important steps. Specifically, measure the exact inside measurements of the chimney flue or brick chimney, this will ensure the chimney liner will fit down your masonry flue. Add 1.25” to the liner size for the outside diameter (Ex: The 6” liner has a 7.25” Outer Diameter).

Be sure the proper size liner, sized to the appliance you are connecting to, will fit down your current masonry chimney. Here is a link to our helpful measuring guides and a link to our Chimney Liner Size Calculator.

UL Listed and made of the highest quality, hand picked, prime stainless steel made in the United States. Fuels include gas, oil, wood, pellet, and coal.

To begin with, select the proper size diameter chimney liner for the appliance you are connecting to. If you need assistance sizing, contact one of Rockford's Certified Technicians and we will be happy to assist.

Note: The sizes give in the menu are inside diameters. Add 1.25" for the outside diameter of the liner.

Next, select the proper length for the chimney height. We fabricate each liner kit in five foot increments. You will want to round up and choose the liner length that is the nearest length.

Chimney Liner Insulation

One of the most frequently asked questions is "Do I Need to Insulate My Chimney Liner?". Most often, for solid fuels, the answer is yes and typically required. On the other hand, for gas and oil, it's recommended, but not always required. Here are a few articles we've written to help you understand chimney liner insulation requirements.

By ordering a pre-insulated chimney liner, all you need to do is install it once you receive it. With attention to a simple installation, you avoid the added time of wrapping the insulation around your flex liner.

Step 2: Bottom Connector

Secondly, you will select the Bottom Connector, which will connect the flexible chimney liner to the appliance. Not only is our Quick-Connect system extremely secure, but also easy to install. In general, there are two different styles of Bottom Connectors.

The first option is a Two-Part Tee Connector. Use the Tee Connector to connect horizontally to the appliance or to the connector pipe inside the room. This is a two-part Tee Connector with a removable snout. Tee Connector Installation Video

The second option is a Vertical Appliance Connector. Use the Vertical Appliance Connector to connect directly to the top of the appliance.

You will find an application summary for each Bottom Connector in the dropdown menu. Keep in mind, the connectors are made to fit around the flex liner and will be 1/4" to 1/2" larger than the diameter listed. Additionally, you will need to trim back 2-3" of the insulation to properly connect to the Bottom Connector.

Step 3: Top Plate

Thirdly, you will select a Top Plate size which will terminate and secure the chimney liner in place at the top of the chimney. Choose the size & style top plate that will fit your chimney flue tile or brick opening. Above all, with our extremely secure Quick-Connect system, installation will be a breeze.

You will find an application summary for each Top Plate in the dropdown menu. For additional information, see our Top Plate Options Overview Video.

Additionally, you will need to trim back 2-3" of the insulation to properly connect to the Top Plate.

Step 4: Rain Cap

Lastly, select a Rain Cap to place over the collar on the Top Plate. This will protect & keep critters, debris, and weather out of the chimney flue. Easy to install and extremely secure with our Quick-Connect system. Not only does the Round Rain Cap feature a mesh screen, but it also has a wind guard to protect against downdrafts.

Great product

First things first. I reached out to Rockford to help me get the right product for my specific application and I can't say enough about how great they were in helping with everything. My order shipped quicker than expected and installed exactly as expected. Great product, great support. I can now have a safe warm home with my wood stove insert. Thanks Rockford.

Kit does what it does - but awesome support

The kit does what it says it will do. Everything appears quality, fit is perfect (Rockford's adapter fits into my woodstove better than the factory-provided one), shipping is free. But the thing that's really awesome is the support. I must have called 5 different times with different questions along the way and always got to talk to someone who knew what they were talking about within a few phone rings. The internet is great, but you can't trust 95% of it. It's awesome to have someone real to talk to. I would go with Rockford again 10 times over (though hopefully this is the one and only time I have to). :)

I had a number of questions and they were answered promptly. Installing tomorrow but things look first class so far..
