The SuperPro / SuperVent Elbow Kit is used to offset the Class A pipe when obstructions such as a roof and ceiling joist are in the direct path of the vent. For vertical venting through the ceiling and the roof, it is common for the penetration of the ceiling to not perfectly line up with where the roof penetration needs to be. The Elbow kit allows you to angle the pipe so you are able to get the pipe in the perfect location for the roof penetration.
The Elbow Kit is available at 15 degree and 30 degree angles and consists of two elbows, an elbow strap, and four locking bands. The elbow strap is used to support the angled section of pipe. Mount the strap around the upper elbow and mount the straps to the joists to support the angled section. Locking bands must be installed on the elbow sections for added stability.
SuperPro and SuperVent models are compatible with each other according to the manufacturer. The 6 in. & 8 in. diameters are the SuperPro model (compatible with SuperVent). The 7 in. diameter is the SuperVent model (compatible with SuperPro).
Note: The maximum allowable chimney length between the elbows is 6 feet. The Elbow Strap is able to support 15 ft. of vertical chimney pipe. 45 degree angles are only prohibited for oil and gas burning appliances. 45 degree angles are not approved for wood burning. Offset elbows should NOT be used for exterior through the wall chimney installation.
