Next Gen Flashing Repair Manual

Application Surface Preparation

  • Start by removing any loose material or debris from the surface for optimal bonding. Make sure to secure any loose flashing sections before applying. You may apply the product to a damp but not saturated surface.
  • Tape Off Work Area. For clean professional edges, use duct tape to mask off the area where the product will be applied. Duct tape is very strong and will ensure the surrounding surfaces are unaffected during application.
  • Apply Material. It is best to use a disposable 3" Chip Brush to apply the Next Gen Flashing Repair to the surface. Make sure to firmly work the product into the cracks and pores of the area to ensure strong adhesion and a waterproof seal.
  • Optional Reinforcement. In the event of a weak flashing area, you can use embed a mesh reinforcement before the second coat to increase the strength. (Not required for warranty.)

Dry Time

Chimney Defender Next Gen Flashing Repair is rain safe within 5 minutes of application without any runoff. It will take 2 to 4 hours for the product to be tack free and 24 to 48 hours for a full cure time depending on weather conditions such as temperature and humidity.
