The Transition Plate allows you to connect our Rock-Vent Class A to our Rock-Flex Chimney Liner or Rigid Chimney Liner in a masonry chimney restoration. The plate measures 18" x 18".

An example installation when this plate is used is when a deteriorating masonry chimney is torn down to the attic. A liner, such as Rock-Flex, would be installed from the heating appliance to the Transition Anchor Plate, which is mounted to the top of the masonry chimney. Rock-Vent Class A chimney pipe would be installed on top of the Transition Plate upward to the required height.

Optional Accessory Details

The Stainless Steel Flexible Chimney Liner is used with the Transition Plate to reline the chimney flue. The diameter of the liner should match the diameter of the Transition Plate you are ordering. The length of the flexible chimney liner will be dependent on how tall the existing chimney is.

The Flex Liner Tee Connector is used to terminate the flexible chimney liner at the bottom of the chimney where the chimney thimble is located. The Tee Connector includes a 10" long snout that will pass through the chimney thimble and will connect to your stove pipe. Longer length tee snouts are available on our Flex Liner Components page. Watch the Tee Connector Installation Video here at this link.

The Transition Plate will need to be sealed with silicone or mortared into place. To further secure the Transition Plate in place, use masonry anchors on each of the four corners. In order to do this, you will need to remove any clay tile that is protruding above the chimney. Please see the installation manual for full instructions.

The mounting plate cannot touch any combustible material. Make sure that the transition plate has at least 1" clearance from the mounting plate to any combustible material. Additionally, the masonry chimney must be a minimum of 10" above the insulation or any combustible material in an attic space.
