The US Fireplace Top Damper Plus is an energy efficient way to prevent any heat or air conditioning loss when the fireplace is not being used. Unlike leaky traditional throat fireplace dampers, the Top Damper Plus has a silicone gasket that ensures the damper is fully closed. The premium stainless steel chimney cap provides additional rain protection. The 3/4" stainless steel diamond mesh provides spark protection and prevents anything from entering the chimney when the damper is open.
The US Fireplace Top Damper Plus comes with the mounting hardware, 30' cable with handle and adhesive. Other than a few tools, the Top Damper Plus comes with everything you need for the installation and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. The Top Damper Plus is very easy to install and includes detailed instructions. The unique spring system ensures the damper closes securely, even with a chimney with offsets.
Note: Do not use top dampers with gas logs - failure to open the damper with gas logs could result in carbon monoxide to back up in the home. Also, in the event of a gas leak & gas is trapped in the chimney, it could result in an explosion.
