Greetings,
Family and Warmth,
These are the two words that stir in us a good feeling this time of the year.
There is nothing like gathering around a warm fireplace or stove, with people that you love and care for.
It is the time to put all of the worries aside, and cherish the moment.
From my family to yours,
Brad White
Owner
Here at Rockford, we get calls every day regarding which type of pipe to use and where. In most cases, this is not a personal preference, but it is all about your home safety.
Here is a brief list of the pipes that we carry, and their intended and safe usage:
Rock Flex and Rigid Pipe
This is a 316Ti Stainless Steel flexible liner that is exclusively used inside a masonry chimney only. It is not to be used as an extension to a stove inside the room, in a closet or an attic, and cannot be used as a wall pass-through, or go through walls and ceilings.
Rock-Vent Single Wall Black Stove Pipe
This pipe is to be installed only where it is visible in a room. It is to be used when you have a minimum of 18" clearance to combustibles. This means that it CANNOT be installed inside a fireplace or inside a masonry chimney, inside a closet or an attic, and cannot be used as a wall pass-through, or go through walls and ceilings.
Rock-Vent Double Wall Black Stove Pipe
Use black double wall venting pipe when you need to reduce clearances to combustibles. This double-wall construction is cooler on the outside and thus lets you reduce both wall and ceiling clearances down to 6".
This pipe has a very specific use. It is mainly for connecting a freestanding woodstove to a masonry or class A pipe chimney. It is to be used when you have a minimum of 18" clearance to combustibles, and where it is visible in the room.
The Rock-Vent Advantage
Rock-Vent Single Wall Black Pipe
Here at Rockford Chimney Supply, we are proud to carry Rock-Vent Black, the industry's first fume free single wall black stove piping. Rock-Vent connections have a gap collar to perfectly match and seal connections with absolutely no unsightly gaps.
Most products on the market today have a serious fumigating effect on initial firing. Sometimes so severe homeowners need to open all windows in the house and leave the house for hours until the fumes have cleared. Rock-Vent fume free finish is the first and only product on today's market that eliminates this long standing problem.
Although 24 gauge steel is the industry standard, Rock-Vent uses a thicker 22 gauge steel, which is more heavy duty than what the standard. It is also rust free, scratch resistant, and perfectly round for precise pipe to pipe fit. This is due to our use of the latest techniques in butt-welding and forming technology. Simply put, it is a superior product to Dura-vent, Snap-Lock, and ALL other makers of black stove pipe.
When to Use Double Wall?
Rock-Vent Double Wall Black Pipe
Use black double wall venting pipe when you need to reduce clearances to combustibles. This product is a 22 gauge black steel outer pipe, with a .015", 430-alloy stainless inner liner. This double-wall construction is cooler on the outside and thus lets you reduce both wall and ceiling clearances down to 6". Double Wall Pipe is available in 6" and 8" diameters.

Rock-Vent will be delivered to you free of unsightly internal rust or corrosion, due a one of a kind unique finishing process and premium packing. This will ensure product quality during shipping, so your pipe arrives in beautiful condition.
