Are you tired of your cold and drafty fireplace? The Lock Top Chimney Damper is the perfect solution. Old, traditional metal fireplace throat dampers tend to be very leaky even when it appears the damper is closed. On average a traditional masonry fireplace throat damper will leak $200 or more of energy a year. The Lock Top Chimney Damper is equipped with a silicone gasket under the lid which makes for an extremely tight seal when the damper is closed. You will no longer feel a draft when the fireplace is not being used.
Simply mount the Lock Top Chimney Damper on the top of your chimney flue and adjust the chain handle to the bracket you mount on the fireplace wall. Lock the cable in the fireplace bracket when you want to close the damper and release the cable from the bracket to allow the damper to spring open when you are ready to have a fire. The heavy duty stainless steel cable is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and will not burn out. The base is constructed of heavy duty cast aluminum and the lid is constructed from stainless steel. All the hardware you will need to install the Lock Top Damper is included. The only tools you will need to install the damper are a pair of wire cutters, a drill with a 1/4" masonry drill bit, and a hammer. Replacing a traditional fireplace throat damper by installing a Lock Top Chimney Damper is a simple and affordable solution.
Note: Do not use Lock Top dampers with gas logs - failure to open the damper with gas logs could result in carbon monoxide to back up in the home. Also, in the event of a gas leak & gas is trapped in the chimney, it could result in an explosion.

RS Round Flue Adapter (Optional):
Lock-Top Dampers are installed to your chimney flue, many of the flues are rectangle or square in shape and the dampers are easily attached to the chimney or clay tiles. However, many chimney flues have round clay tiles, pipes or solid packed Class A double wall pipes, we now have a solution for them - the RS round flue adapter.
Using the RS Adapter, simply slide it inside the round flue opening and attach the energy-saving Lock-Top damper to the square (top) of the RS adapter. Select the RS Adapter by the inside diameter of the flue or pipe opening. The RS adapters are NOT to be used with Air Cooled Pipes. Please contact us for a quote for Air Cooled Pipe Adapters.
